While I am cozying up with baby Margaux and big sister Eloise, my dear friend, Lisa is helping me out with a product review. Here in Chicago the high is going to be -12° today so its safe to say winter gear for our little ones is an absolute necessity. Lisa and her handsome little guy, Harrison are reviewing an awesome bunting i.e., footmuff that works on nearly all strollers. The 7am Enfant BLANKET 212 Evolution bunting is luxe, warm and super stylish – but I will let Lisa tell you all the details… and we are giving one away to one lucky reader! Deets below.
The allure of living in a city to me has always been that you can walk places. I always say no matter where I live, I have to be walking distance from a Starbucks at the very least. And when you live in a small(ish) condo with a wild 16 month old boy you are always looking to get out of the house. This is our first Chicago winter with a toddler and we are working out the kinks of the proper attire for our son. The balance of keeping him warm enough without sweating through his clothes is always a fine line. The solution to surviving a Chicago winter is definitely a stroller bunting. I have gone through several rounds of buntings and have had my eye on the 7 A.M. Enfant blankets for a while (this was on my Pintrest board prior to being pregnant). I was so excited to try out the BLANKET 212evolution® and happy to report it lived up to my expectations.
Two extensions takes you from infancy to preschool
Large front pocket
Compatible with any stroller (I tried it on our Uppa Baby Vista and BOB)
Micro Fleece Lining
The shell is waterproof and the inside is lined with a warm fleece. Our previous bunting had a nylon shell and nylon lining. We keep our stroller in the car parked on the street and the interior of the bunting would get extremely cold. The fleece liner on the BLANKET 212evolution® stays warmer. Also, when trying to wrangle a toddler into the stroller, the fleece material isn’t as slippery as the nylon. The fleece liner is very soft on the skin and keeps baby warmer when temperatures dip.
The Ergonomic hood is a must in the frigid weather. The hood helps create a perfect seal to keep the wind and cold out. Because of the great fit, your child really doesn’t need a coat in most conditions. I found that buntings that didn’t have a hood often times slid down in back and in general exposed much of the torso.
Center front zipper. The location of the zipper is key! I found that when the zipper runs along the outside of the bunting, and you unzip indoors, there is usually a huge piece of fabric flapping off the side of the stroller. Since the zipper is center front, when unzipped, there is very little fabric hanging. There are also two settings for the zipper in front to create a snugger fit. I tried a similar design from another company and found that there was a rather large hole around the zipper when it was extended. The BLANKET 212evolution® does a VERY good job of making sure that all the closures are completely covered with no room for icy air to blow in.
Compatible with any stroller. We are currently using an older version of the UPPAbaby Babyganoosh Footmuff which obviously fits perfectly in our Uppababy Vista stroller. I was lucky enough to inherit my sister in laws BOB stroller when she had her second baby. I tried to make the Babyganoosh work in the BOB and it was completely impossible because the harnesses on the two strollers are totally different. As you can imagine, this was somewhat frustrating. The BLANKET 212evolution® is compatible and fits VERY well in both these strollers.
Stylish. On top of being extremely functional, it doesn’t hurt that 7A.M. Enfant makes products that look gorgeous also. The design in sleek and modern. Colors are always on trend from Radiant Orchid and neon to classics like black, grey and beige. There is something for everyone! The BLANKET 212evolution® comes in 17 colors alone, not counting the new chevron design (which comes in six additional colors). I cannot tell you how many people complemented us on our stylish bunting this weekend!
The bottom line is the sleek, functional and comfortable BLANKET 212evolution® is a must for the winter months. It fits well and compatible with multiple strollers. It keeps our son warm while still looking cool. It is also a great investment since it last from infancy to toddlerhood. We are really looking forward to enjoying all our great city has to offer this winter while staying warm in the BLANKET 212evolution®!
