For this Baby Shower Gifts feature, I am focusing on a diaper theme. Now, I want to warn that the gifts that I am going to show can add up quickly if you aren’t careful, so make sure to really be careful to stick to your budget (or go crazy if you would like).
Before you start shopping based on my recommendations, I would highly encourage you to check your soon-to-be mama’s registry. Although these are products that I like and recommend, there is a reason she spent hours on her swollen feet, roaming the aisles of her baby store with a registry scanner in hand, trying to hold off on hobbling over to the restroom. If at all possible, get the items that she has requested, as she has probably registered for them for a reason. Hopefully, though, she used our registry guides to help her.
For a $30 budget, you can have a very simple diaper cake. Simply roll each of the diapers up and keep them together with a rubber band. Tie a ribbon around the outside to cover up the rubber band and make your base layer of the rolled-up diapers. The second layer will be of a tub of Baby Aquaphor, held down to the base layer of diapers with a ribbon (or even tape). Top it off with a cute stuffed animal or a tube of diaper rash cream.
With a $50 budget, you can be a little more creative and actually make a diaper wreath! A $4 wire wreath frame from a craft store, a $4 spool of ribbon, a pack of newborn diapers, and a few themed toys, and you have an adorable (and useful gift).
When you bump your budget up to $100, you can create a full-blown cake (or in my case a tricycle cake). For this one, you will need a larger pack of size 1 diapers, ribbon, rubber bands, socks, bibs, a bottle, and a larger stuffed animal.
