Carseat Sidekick Review + Giveaway

When the team over at Short Stack Jack wrote to me about their Carseat Sidekick I was immediately intrigued.  Since Eloise was born and we were struggling to put a teeny tiny newborn in her car seat without the straps in the way, I have been looking for a way to hold back those bulky straps.  Even now, at nearly six months I was still looking for a way to deal with those pesky straps.  The idea behind the Carseat Sidekick is so practical it is one of those things you say, why didn’t I think of that?!?  Needless to say I was thrilled to receive the Carseat Sidekick and start using it and of course, share it with y’all.  Lucky for one of you, we are giving away a set of your color choice!

**The giveaway has ended, congrats to our winner Kimberley!!**

The Carseat Sidekick has two pieces for each side of your seat – one that attaches to the handlebar of your car seat and the other that attaches to the straps.  Using a magnet, the retractable pieces that attach to the handlebar “grab” the pieces attached to the strap and hold them out of the way.  The straps easily come easily unattached and it is amazing how much quicker and more comfortably you get your little one in the seat! Here is a simple video on the straps in action:

We’ve been using these for several weeks now and I have to say I love them!  They really make putting Eloise in the car seat so much easier – it is like having an extra set of hands.  From time to time the straps come unhooked but even so, it is easy to reattach them (with one hand) before putting her in the seat.  The only other downside I would say is that if you strap covers on your car seat straps things can get a little crowded with the Carseat Sidekick straps too.  It is nothing a little rearranging can’t solve but something worth mentioning.

Installation wise, the Carseat Sidekick has to be the easiest thing we’ve ever installed or put together!  Seriously, it takes less than five minutes to get them out of the box and put on the car seat.  Once installed, the Carseat Sidekick becomes more like a piece of your car seat than an extra accessory.  In other words, it doesn’t get in the way or make your car seat feel bigger/bulkier than it is.  I would most definitely recommend the Carseat Sidekick to any mom using a carseat!  At less than $20 these make a great and unique baby shower gift!

The Carseat Sidekick works with all major brands including, Graco, Safety First, Chico, Baby Trend, Aprica, Summer, Peg-Prego, Maxi Cosi, Cosco and Evenflo.

As mentioned, we are giving away a set of your choice!  The CarSeat Sidekick comes in three cute color – green, orange and pink.  We have the green and it works great for a boy or girl as does the orange.  And the pink is super cute too! To enter:
