While we are reusing many of our baby products from Eloise for little Miss Margaux we do have a pretty good amount of new gear we’ve been using/testing. The new Dex DayDreamer is one of them. The DayDreamer is new to the market and exclusive to Babies R Us. I was excited to try the DayDreamer but have to admit I was a bit skeptical about it serving a purpose than a more traditional or “fancy” infant seat with vibrating and movement functions. BUT I am really pumped to bring you this review and GIVEAWAY of what has become one of our favorite products.
Lets talk features first:
I already admitted I was skeptical about how much I would use the DayDreamer and if it would really wow Margaux enough to a) keep/put her to sleep or b) be a place to chill and in the end, I feel silly because if Margaux was writing this post she would tell you she LOVES the DayDreamer. For that reason, I love the DayDreamer. Margaux has a bit of reflux/is anti-laying flat and the incline seems to be the perfect level to make her comfortable. She quickly and easily falls asleep in the DayDreamer and that is quite and endorsement coming from a little lady who prefers to be in her mama or papa’s arms 100% of the time. We have many other places for Margaux to safely chill but the DayDreamer is a favorite of hers.
I really like the DayDreamer too. I appreciate that it is lightweight and easy to move from room to room. The three point harness is so easy to use – it only requires one hand! The fabric is super soft but breathable and the fact that is machine washable is an added but necessary bonus. The core of the DayDreamer promotes airflow to keep babies cool and comfortable. I thought a downside of this product would be that fact there is no motion or vibrating feature but in reality it is an added bonus. It is simple and cozy and sometimes that is just what a baby wants! A note for usage… the DayDreamer should ALWAYS and ONLY be used on the floor. Using the DayDreamer on any elevated or soft surface (like your bed) or a crib poses serious safety risks so just don’t do it. Seriously.
Complaints? Not much and they are minor. For a newborn, with little to no head control I have found that Margaux can get somewhat goosenecked and/or shift slightly even when using the harness. Of course, she keeps sleeping and seems completely comfortable but I wish there was a newborn insert to achieve a little more support for teeny newborns. While I don’t miss a vibrating or moving function I do wish there was a place to attach toys. As Margaux becomes more alert I think a toy bar would be an engaging feature. That is all! The only other thing to consider thing to keep in mind is that every infant seat isn’t for every baby. Of course, this is something you can’t know until you try it with your little one but it is a piece of advice I like to remind everyone when registering or purchasing baby gear.
From the angled seat to the cozy fabric to the portability, the DayDreamer is a welcome addition to the world of baby products. I am excited to see how our love for the DayDreamer evolves as our sweet little lady grows. Bottom line, we are big fans for the DayDreamer in this house. Big sister, Eloise has even popped in the “lounger” as we affectionately call it.
We are giving away a DayDreamer to one lucky reader! You’ll have your choice of color (pink, blue or sage – based on availability). The giveaway starts today, January 13th and ends Friday, January 17th at 5pm CST. The winner will be chosen at random, contacted via email and have five days to change their prize before another winner is selected.
