HALO SwaddleChange changing pad cover Review + Giveaway!

Happy Monday! I hope all our friends on the east coast are safe, cozy and with power after Nemo. Today we have a great new product to introduce, review and giveaway. We all know and love HALO for their contributions to helping babies sleep safely but their newest product, the HALO SwaddleChange changing pad cover is quickly becoming a must have for diaper changes.

The idea behind the SwaddleChange is genius. It is a changing pad cover with an adjustable swaddle built in. The cover is made of one of the softest fabrics I have ever come across, Velboa. Velboa feels like a softer,smoother version of fleece and it is super cozy for the little ones. The adjustable swaddle allows you to easily (and quickly) velcro your little one for a cozy and happy diaper change. The SwaddleChange works for newborns up to one year. The SwaddleChange is not only great for newborns creating a cozy, soothing place for newborn diaper changes but also great for the older set who like to roll and reach their way around diaper changes!

From a users perspective, the SwaddleChange fits most standard changing pads and allows you to still use your safety belt to secure your little one to the pad. It should be noted, the swaddle feature of the changing pad is not a safety belt so use the normal precautions and always supervise your child on a changing pad.

In order to get accurately review the SwaddleChange we thought we should test it on both a younger , six week old babe and our own seven month old. The six week old loves to be swaddled and absolutely LOVED the SwaddleChange. In a direct comparison between a non swaddle changing pad and the SwaddleChange the overall mood (especially after a nap) were improved. I didn’t figure Eloise would be too excited about having her arms swaddled in the SwaddleChange but thought I would try it. Surprisingly, she didn’t mind it too much. However, for normal daily use I swaddled around her mid section with her arms out. Lately one of her favorite activities during diaper changes is rolling from side to side and trying to grab her lotion, lamp, picture frame or anything she can get her hands on. The SwaddleChange helped immensely in keeping her a bit more stationary. Generally speaking she didn’t mind having the mid-section swaddle although she is getting to the point where she can undo the velcro. However, I don’t really mind as it gives her something to “focus” on while I change her diaper and she is not rolling around looking for something more fun to play with! And by the time I have her diaper change I am ready to pick her up anyway!

The bad? I really like the SwaddleChange and like that it works for the entire first year. Although, I wish the swaddle piece could be removed so post one year the super soft changing pad could still be used. Other than that, I have no complaints!
