Happy Halloween… Twin Style!

Happy Halloween from The Wise Baby! We hope that your day (and night) is filled with few tricks and lots of treats! May your ghosts and ghouls be adorable in their costumes!

As this is our first Halloween with the twins, I wanted it to be a good one. I know that our years of coordinating costumes are limited, and this was the first year that was truly open to whatever we wanted, so I thought I would bring back a childhood favorite of mine: Super Mario Brothers… or in our case, Mario and Princess Peach. Even my husband and I got in on the action and dressed as question mark blocks.

The costumes were fairly easy to assemble:

MARIO: Overalls (CARTER’S), a red long-sleeved shirt (WALMART), yellow felt circles glued onto the overall snaps, custom Mario face hat (BUMBLE BEEDS BOWTIQUE)

PRINCESS PEACH: Long-sleeved pink shirt and pants (BABY GAP), blue and yellow felt oval broach pinned onto the shirt, pink tutu, custom Princess Peach hat (BUMBLE BEEDS BOWTIQUE)

QUESTION MARK BLOCK SHIRTS: Blue shirts (MICHAEL’S), heat-transfer vinyl to create the classic question-mark block

We had quite the time determining what the twins would be:

  • April and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
  • Luke and Leia
  • Mickey and Minnie
  • Raggedy Ann and Andy
  • Winnie the Pooh and Piglet
  • Charlie Brown and Lucy
  • Thing 1 and Thing 2
  • salt and pepper shakers
  • underwater characters
  • a pair of pumpkins

In the end, I knew that I wanted Audrey in a tutu, so Mario and Princess Peach won out (a decision which made my husband very very happy).

So what are your kiddos going to be this year? If you have more than one child, have you done coordinating costumes?
