I was thrilled to open my inbox to find these lovely maternity and newborn photos from Leigh at Fresh Light Photography. I think most moms get to a point in their pregnancy where they can’t remember life not being pregnant and then after the baby arrives you can’t seem to remember being pregnant. These gorgeous photos capture both special feelings perfectly. The little one, Miss Macey couldn’t be cuter, mama and papa couldn’t be prouder and it’s easy to see why I was so thrilled to share these photos. Be sure to check out the fabulous advice from Leigh about hiring a newborn photographer following the photos!
Leigh has great advice for all of us looking for the perfect newborn photographer: “When you are choosing a newborn photographer, make sure you pick someone with lots of experience specifically in newborns. It takes a lot of training and practice to be able to get newborns in all of those yummy, curled up poses, and to do it safely. When you are going though a photographer’s newborn portfolio, looks for babies that look relaxed, comfy, and warm. The goal with newborn photography is to make poses look effortless, like the baby just fell asleep that way. The truth is, it takes a lot to get a baby perfectly curled up, so find a photographer specializes in newborns.”
A big thanks to Leigh for the advice and for sharing her work with us!

What a beautiful family. I agree with you about forgetting the little details of being pregnant once you become a busy mom. It is such an amazing time and I love how these pictures capture the moment!
These photographs are absolutely precious……………The photographer was spectacular at capturing such priceless moments. Beautiful baby, beautiful family, and incredible photography……….Gorgeous!!!
These photos definitely inspire couples to capture both maternity and newborn moments, not just one or the other. I love seeing the last photo of the woman looking at her stomach with anticipation/excitement, and the next one of her cradling her newborn in her arms-fantastic idea to pair them together!
I love these. I have a 10 month old boy/girl set of twins, but I was so over my head with diapers, bottels that I hardly took pictures of them at this age your photos make me want to give it a go or maybe I should just call you You did a beautiful job and the exhausted but joy-filled mom will always be grateful!
