We have reviewed the awesome Moby Wrap and in fact, named it to our Best Baby Products of 2012 so when the team over at Moby asked me to review the new Moby Go I was thrilled. I have been using the Go for a little over three weeks now and am excited to share my thoughts with you. The best part? (other than the carrier of course) – we are giving away a Go to one lucky reader! A little disclaimer… carriers are a personal choice – what works for some doesn’t always work for others. Some babies and parents may have different needs and necessities and our review and feature of the Go is to help you make an informed decision on what is best for your lifestyle!
The Moby Go is a soft structured carrier that is designed for babies 15 – 45 pounds. It is made of easy to clean and super soft but sturdy fabrics. The Go is designed to be comfortable for mom and baby with its ergonomic design. The wide shoulder straps mimic the wrap like feel (super comfy without the wrapping) and allow for a firm but flexible hold. The two straps cross in the back and are anchored by a waist belt that is lightly padded. It probably goes without saying but all straps are adjustable.
As I mentioned, I have been using the Go for several weeks and it is really great. Carriers are important around our house because they are essential for taking brother Murphy outside – especially in these cold temps. That being said, I have tested lots of them and the Go is one of my favorites. Not only is it easy on my shoulders and back but Eloise is also comfortable. It is easy for me to get on and the straps can be adjusted with one hand. And as we all know, having two hands to fiddle with straps is far from ideal so in my mind, this is a huge plus. The side buckles are also easy to reach and fasten with just one hand. I mentioned the wide shoulder straps earlier and they are one of my favorite features. These straps give you the secure, peace of mind feeling much like the wide straps of the Moby Wrap provide.
Let’s talk about your little ones position in the Go. Effectively, they are “sitting” in an ergonmically designed chair! I really love Eloise’s position in this carrier and I think she is so comfortable because it is more of a natural position than the “hold” other carriers provide. This seat position feels like a grown up version of the Wrap in the sense that it is even more like an actual seat which is great for this older set.
Another fun feature of the Go is the handy pocket on the front which also houses a hood. Granted in these cold temps Eloise always has a hat on but the hood has been especially nice for rainy or snowy days – an umbrella if you will. The hood is roomy and will definitely accommodate Eloise as she grows.
So what is not too love? Honestly, not much. My only complaint would be that it is not as easy to get Eloise in and out of as some carriers. Now it is by no means difficult but it isn’t super easy. However, this is a trade off because these other carriers I mention require additionally buckling or snapping but not the Go. You will want to tighten the straps but that is a non issue and easy to do. So this negative I tried to find is actually a positive…! The only other thing I would mention is while Eloise fits in the Go and is comfortable at 17 pounds she definitely has room to grow and sometimes I have to fiddle with the back piece to fold down so she has a clear line of site. Again, not really a big deal and I can appreciate that this carrier will last for months years to come. I can imagine that she will only love the carrier more as she grows.
I should add the Go can be worn with the child on your back and side although it was not designed for such it can be safely configured to do so. I did not try these methods out so cannot speak to these “holds” specifically.
All in all, the Go is a total winner in my mind. If you like the soft feel of a Wrap but are looking for something a little more structured than the Go is definitely the solution. OR if you are just looking for a fabulous carrier the Go is one of the best options out there. (Remember, the 15 pound minimum).

I wear my baby everywhere! Especially now, during cold and flu season- not only to we get to snuggle when I wear him, but it prevents him from being passed around to friends and family and risking catching something! I’m curious as to whether nursing is easy while baby is worn in the moby Go. ….

I don’t know if i have a favourite place to wear my baby – I wear her everywhere! I guess I would say the grocery store, as I have a preschooler who loves to help me and wearing the baby makes following him easier!
My favorite place to babywear is the grocery store. The kiddo gets to look around at different scenery and I don’t have to worry about a bulky carseat in my cart.
