One of these days I will stop talking about how Eloise is one but today is not the day. Today I want to talk about my all time favorite baby products after one year of using hundreds of products. It is no surprise I am a product junkie so I feel like my list is solid. A very solid list of great products. I know everyone is different but this list isn’t just products I like but ones I loved. Love so much I wouldn’t think twice about buying and using again.
Arms Reach Mini Co-Sleeper
Eloise slept in the co-sleeper until she was six months old. I loved having her so close and at eye level. In the early days of lots of middle of the night feedings it was beyond ideal. I realize a co-sleeper may not be the right fit for everyone and every baby but it was perfect for us. I tried several different bassinet type of things before taking a family outing when Eloise was one week old to buy the co-sleeper. Best outing (at the time) we ever took. I can’t say enough good things about our expierence with the co-sleeper mini, you can read our full review, here.
aden + anais Swaddle Blankets
No big surprise here. When I was pregnant, I knew everyone loved these but didn’t really understand why. I found out real quick. They are the perfect size and weight for swaddling and also double as a changing pad, nursing cover, carseat cover and anything else you want it to be. In my mind these are a must for every new mama!
At 1 year+ we are still loving he “wubs” as they are affectionatly called at our house. In the early days, before Eloise was engaged with the friendly animal on the other end I loved how easy it was to find and replace the wubs when the were spit out or fell from the carseat, etc. Once Eloise started engaging and focusing on things she loved them. Since then, she has graduated to expertly putting them in her mouth and grabbing them from wherever she sees them to playing with them in the early morning hours before fully waking me up. A baby and mama favorite.
HALO swaddle sleepsacks
I tried several different “newborn” blankets for Eloise and the Halo Sleepsacks were by far the winner. When she decided fairly early one she didn’t want to be swaddled anymore I was still able to swaddle her midsection which kept her cozy and secure. Even after we were done with the swaddle part of these we graduated to the basic sleepsack. We used these up until she could stand in her crib (about 9 months). While I will definitely try my other newborn blankets with the next bambino – just because every baby is different, I will be sure to have sleepsack swaddles on hand, though! Check out our REVIEW
The Dairy Fairy Arden Bra
Unfortunately, I didn’t discover the Arden Bra until about six months into breastfeeding and pumping. I can’t imagine how much easier this would have made my life in the first six months. The Arden Bra allows for nursing and hands free pumping in one bra. Yes, no changing bras, no washing two types of bras, etc. Not to mention, it is a beautiful bra. We reviewed the Arden Bra in full, here and I can’t say enough great things about it. Bonus for us, there are two awesome promo codes for Wise Baby readers: thewisebaby1 for $10 off 1 bra OR thewisebaby2 for $25 off 2 bras. Codes good through7/31/13.
Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother
We’ve talked about the Sea Dreams Soother several times and after tweleve months are still loving it. I don’t travel without it and it is integral part of our sleep time routine. In the early days it was in the crib but since Eloise basically does acrobatics when she sleeps it is now outside her crib on the floor to keep her safe. I seriously don’t know what we would do without the Sea Dreams Soother!
Dr. Brown’s Standard Bottles (BPA free)
I couldn’t be more pleased with the Dr. Brown’s bottles. Sure they have lots of pieces to clean but I don’t mind and don’t know what it is like to clean bottles with less pieces! They have kept Eloise’s gas to a minimum since the early days and we’re still loving them after a year. You can see our full review, here.
BABYBJORN Original Baby Carrier
After thorough research I settled on the Original Carrier. In the early, newborn days I didn’t love this carrier and thought I had made a mistake. Once Eloise was a little bigger (about 2 months) I really started loving it. Nowadays, she faces out and has the BEST time. She much prefers the carrier to a stroller and it makes navigating small city spaces and stores super easy. I will note that Eloise is on the small side (19 pounds at 12 months) so I don’t have any back pain when using it. If your little one is closer to the average size you may want to consider another carrier, like the Active
or Miracle. You can see our full review of the Original, here.
Summer Infant Cushy Cradler Tub
Eloise loved this tub. We started nightly baths at about three months and have kept them up since. She was able to stay in this tub until about 8 months! It is roomy but not too roomy because it worked well for when she was a tiny newborn. I love that the surface of the tub is soft which keeps it comfy all while giving mom and dad traction so an already slippery baby doesn’t slide all around. This tub is a great price point and I recommend it to everyone but sadly it doesn’t look like it is being sold any longer. I will try to find a similar model and put together a follow up post! We included this tub in our infant bath tub reviews.
BABYBJORN High Chair
I had my eye on this chair from day one. Living in a small space, I didn’t want an oversized high chair that I could easily store away, if needed. The Baby Bjorn high chair solved all my problems – it is compact, folds easily and is stylish. Although my favorite part of this chair is how easy it is to clean. No nooks, crannies and crevices for food to get stuck, the tray removes easily and the entire thing can be wiped down/disinfected. You can see the full review here and this is by far tops on my list of favorite products.
4moms Breeze Playard
The Breeze came out after I had registered, received and used another pack ‘n play. We ended up leaving that pack ‘n play in St. Louis at the grandparents house so were in the market for one to have in Chicago. We saw the Breeze and knew we had to have it. It is SO easy to set up, the mattress on the top and bottom is firm yet comfortable and the it is very sturdy which is appreciated for a little lady who like to stand and “dance” when she wakes up! One other note on setup being so easy – it really is as easy as it looks. The other pack ‘n play we had was by far the most frustrating piece of baby gear for Tyler to put together. Not to toot his horn but he is really good at putting stuff together (afterall, he puts broken bones back together for a living) and had a time and a half with it. The Breeze can be ready to use in under a minute with zero frustration. You can see our full review, here.
Dr. Brown’s Snack-A-Pillar Cups
While the Snack-A-Pillar isn’t a major piece of gear it is so, so handy. I can’t say enough good things about the ease and convenience of these – you can use one, two or however many you need, carry puree’s to crackers and then come home and put them in the dishwasher! These are a must for our diaper bag and any travel. You can see a more in depth review as part of the Dr. Brown’s Solid Feeding Products review, here.
Of course, there are many other products that have made our first year easier and more enjoyable but these are really the best of the best! You can view all of our past favorite products here: one, two, three, four, five , six, seven, eight, nine, ten months and eleven months!
