When I was first registering, multiple people told me that I needed at least three strollers – WHAT?!? Three? That sounded (and was) crazy. In all actuality there are many great strollers out there that serve multiple functions – an on the go stroller, a cursing the neighborhood/rougher terrain stroller and one that can accommodate more than one child. One great option, is the Phil & Ted’s Vibe. We were sent a Phil & Ted’s Vibe and as evidenced by our instagram account, have been testing it for several weeks. We are really pleased with the stroller so are beyond thrilled to be GIVING ONE AWAY! That’s right, one lucky reader is going to be cruising the streets in a brand new Vibe.
As evidenced above, the Vibe has so many great features. From a quality standpoint, the Vibe is top notch. It is made of durable materials that will stand the test of time – an aluminum frame which is also stylish, sturdy, 12″ air filled tires and top of the line luxe fabric which is easy to clean, breathable and a step above competing strollers. The fabric was one of my favorite features of the stroller. I love the lycra seat fabric – it is soft and breathable. The seat(s) are adequately padded and Eloise (and Margaux) were comfortable.
From a ride perspective, your little one is sure to be riding not only in style, com for but safety as well. The seat has multiple position recline equipped with a very ample sun canopy that has a “follow the sun” visor (basically a canopy extender that provides extra protection). For mama and papa there is a six position adjustable handlebar complete with a handlebar brake which is SO incredibly handy. I really enjoyed the handlebar break – it is super easy to use and very nice to have such complete, quick control over your break. Lastly, the babe’s are safe in a five point harness that is easy to adjust.
One major bonus of the Phil & Ted’s Vibe is the ability to easily pop an extra seat on and turn it in to an inline double stroller. The double kit is an additional purchase (about $129) but it is a worthy purchase if you have multiple children. With the addition of the doubles kit the Vibe has up to 23 configurations. I should note though, this 23 configurations does also include the purchase of an infant car seat adapter (the good news here is that the Vibe is compatible with most major car seat brands giving you a complete travel system). With or without the adapter though, there are still countless configurations. We used the stroller mostly with the double’s kit and both babes forward facing. The second seat does have a three position recline to Margaux was able to ride, even at a young age.
From a double stroller perspective, I really like the Vibe. Because you just pop the double’s seat on the same frame you are still working with a fairly compact stroller footprint which is great for urban environments and general maneuverability. For those that travel bumpy sidewalks or have to hop curbs frequently, you’d enjoy how easily the Vibe can pop up curbs. Some in line double strollers are long and heavy therefore, making them difficult to maneuver curbs or incredibly bumpy sidewalks (hello, all Chicago sidewalks!). From a maneuverability standpoint, the Vibe handles really easily and has a smooth ride.
The Vibe folds with both seats attached with the same ease it does as a single. The stroller stands when folded and has a self locking mechanism which is SUPER handy when you are mama of two juggling two kiddos, a stroller and countless other things.
We used the Vibe for long walks around town, short jaunts to run errands and in/out of the car. The Vibe was easy to use and its compact nature was a definite bonus however, it does take a bit of getting used to maneuver through door when I was alone. Again, I love that the stroller stayed compact even when adding the double seat. I did find it a bit challenging to get Margaux in the second seat. I think as she gets older, it will get easier and once she was in the seat she was always a happy camper.
At the end of the day, the Vibe is an awesome stroller. It functions beautifully as a single or double stroller, is superior quality and all around easy to use. While the Vibe is great for any lifestyle for those of you navigating urban environments the Vibe is an excellent choice – it is compact but still built to handle everything that urban jungle throws at you.
As mentioned, we are giving away a Vibe to one lucky reader! The giveaway starts today, April 28th and ends Saturday May 3rd at 3pm CST. Winner will be chosen at random, contacted via email and have five days to claim their prize before another winner is selected.
