I am REALLY excited for todays post. For those of you that follow us on Facebook you may remember me asking for any and all mom volunteers to share their favorite baby products with us. Today is the first of what I hope to be a regular feature around here. Obviously I have alot to say about baby gear but I know you all do too. Not to mention, you are probably sick of listening to me all the time so we want to feature YOUR favorite products.
Leslie, a first time mom living Kentucky so graciously volunteered and was lightining quick in getting me her great list of products. Not only is Leslie and her little man, Logan gorgeous, she is a savvy mom and has some great picks for us! A HUGE thanks to Leslie for participating and for all of you that I am working with on upcoming posts. If you are interested in having your favorite products featured, email me and I will give you more details (it is easy, I promise)!
1) Fisher Price Rock N Play Sleeper
We are so happy with this product! We used it so many different ways. He slept in it by our bed at night, he napped in it during the dayin his nursery, we traveled to grandma’s house with it and easily carried it where ever we were in the house. The incline was great for him because he spits up a lot, it was snug for a newborn so he wouldn’t roll over, and it easily folds up to travel. By far the most used and most loved in our house!
2) The Puj Tub
I think we tried 3 or 4 bathtub/cushion options before we discovered this gem. We use it in our kitchen sink and it is perfect! He’s going to outgrow it soon and I’m sad. This is the only tub I am comfortable bathing him in without help. He doesn’t slide around. All the other tubs I needed one hand on him at all times this one is more secure and my hands are more free and I am more confident. Such a simple idea but really worth the purchase.
3) Gumdrop Pacifier
We have at least 8 of these bad boys and I’m not sure how a day would happen without them.
4) Medela Pump in Style Advanced
Logan didn’t latch for the first 16 days he was here. This was essential to keeping my milk production going while we were trying to figure out how to nurse. Once things were smoother, it was great to be able to pump a bottle so I could be a away for a few hours. Now I am working one day a week and this allows me to work and still keep up with nursing.
We used so many different brands and styles. If mom and dad were sleeping it was because Logan was swaddled. He had wild arms that needed to be contained. I am especially grateful for the Halo Sleep sack swaddle. It was our tool that we used to get out of the swaddle. First swaddle, then sleep sack swaddle, then one arm out, now both arms out and just in a sleep sack, yay!
6) Boppy Pillow
Friends tried to talk me into other brands, but I always came back to the boppy. Nursing, tummy time, propping him up to play, it is very handy and easy to wash the cover and get it back on (unlike others I tried).
7) Arm and Hammer Simply Saline Baby Swabs
These are wonderful!! The cool saline is on the swab once you snap the top of the qtip. Then you can swipe baby’s boogies or dry nose in the tip of the nasal passages. Well worth a few dollars!
8) Aden and Anias muslin swaddles
We still use these all the time. We tried to swaddle with them, but Logan was too strong and needed tighter swaddles. We use these as blankets, to cover the car seat when walking in a store, to block the sun in the car, the table at the pediatrician’s office and so much more. They are so versatile. We will use them for a while too!
Great picks Leslie! Thank you again for taking the time to share your favs with us.
