Today’s real mom is a fellow Chicagoan and resident’s wife so we are very much on the same page when it comes to our favorite products. I was excited to see the Boon tub on Praveen’s list and I am loving her Pashmama nursing cover. A big thanks to Praveen for sharing her favorites with us – I know you’ll enjoy! And if you’d like to share your favorites, email me for details. It is fun, easy and other moms LOVE reading!
I’m a new mom to a 3 month little man, Nehvin. Besides the little man, I love living the city life in Chicago, great food and wine, and traveling. I also have a lifestyle blog: rnlMusings, where I dabble in mommy related posts among other things! As a new mom it’s so great to see other moms having similar issues or concerns, and I love the favorite products series. So I wanted so share some of mine.
1 – Aden and Anias bamboo swadle cloths
Now that Nehvin is too big for the hospital swaddle cloths these are the perfect size. They are beyond soft, I honestly wish my sheets were this soft. And they work perfectly as a blanket, nursing cover, or stroller cover on a hot day.
2 – Tiny Love 3 in 1 Rocker Napper
We still use this daily. Nehvin sleeps in it every night, as he’s still in our bedroom and not the nursery. When he wakes up at night and needs comforting, it’s easy to rock him back to sleep. During the day the mobile keeps him entertained for hours or we can prop him up and use it as a vibrating chair. This is hands down the best baby product we’ve purchased to date.
3 – Motherlove Herbal Nipple Cream
This product single handily saved my nipples and allowed me to keep breastfeeding on days when my nipples would have rather jumped ship.
4 – Boon Naked Collapsible Tub
Love this tub, and so does the little man. It’s so versatile as it will grow with him from infant to toddler, it’s so easy to drain, and it collapse for flat storage, a must in a condo.
5 – Baby K’tan
Nehvin hated the kangaroo position, but now that he’s big enough and has better head control he loves being strapped in while I do chores like folding laundry and the dishes. Added bonus, my hands are free, it’s comfortable enough that my back doesn’t hurt, and I love the closeness it offers. We decided to go with the K’tan over the Moby, simply because I didn’t want to deal with having yards and yards of material, and the K’tan is idiot proof with its 2 fabric pieces.
6 – Long Sleeved Side Snap Shirts with Mittens
Initially I was terrified of cutting his nails but they were like talons and he kept scratching himself. These shirts were great so that we could keep the claws at bay and made changing his clothes super easy (he wasn’t a fan of anything that went over his head initially). And let’s face it, mittens never actually stay on.
7 – Pashmama Nursing Cover
Love that this doesn’t scream nursing cover. It’s so light that it’s perfect for the summer time, but it offers plenty of coverage so that I don’t flash anyone when the little one kicks while feeding.
Thanks again Praveen – Nehvin is one lucky little guy to have such a savvy mama!
