Hooray for Real Mom Wednesday! We’ve got a rockstar mom sharing her favorites with us today. Tiffany is mama to four boys so is basically a bonafide baby gear expert. She’s got a great list for all age ranges and I throughly enjoyed reading her favorites and know you will too. A big thank you to Tiffany for taking some time out of her very busy day to share her list with us. If you’d like to share your favorites, we’d love to have you – email me for the easy details!
I am a married and very busy mom of four beautiful little boys. My boys’ ages are 7, 4, 2, and 6.5 months. I am a stay-at-home mom and very much enjoy the craziness of our busy bunch; there’s never a dull moment! We live in an average home in a rural area, in York, Pa. I love to try new things before anyone else and I’m obsessed with baby/child products. My dream would be to open a baby boutique.
1.) 4MOMS mamaRoo: 4moms really created an amazing product when they created the mamaRoo. The mamaRoo is something I highly recommend to any new moms, whether that be first time moms or experienced “new” moms because for me, it’s been an absolute life saver. I wish I had this amazing piece of baby gear with my first 3! Our youngest, Henry, was such a fussy newborn and this would calm him down right away. The mamaRoo is actually pretty quiet (sounds off/no mp3 player hooked up) and would put him to sleep almost every time. Once he got a bit bigger, he loved to start grabbing at the mobile and toy balls that hang above. I also love the seat recline feature. Must have item!!
2.) Gerber Birdseye Flatfold Cloth Diapers: These may be considered “diapers,” but the only thing I’ve used them as is spit-up cloths. This is something I’ve bought and used for all 4 of my children. I’ve had my fair share of what’s marketed as “spit-up cloths” but these are by far the best I’ve used. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money on cute spit-ups cloths because after baby is all said and done with them, you’ll have wasted your money and they won’t be pretty. These are easily found in most mass merchandisers and are very inexpensive. They wash up beautifully, dry quickly, and last a long time.
3.) Phil and Teds Verve Stroller: I remember when I first laid eyes on a Phil & Teds… I just had to have one. This has probably been one of my bigger splurges in terms of baby gear items. When I bought mine, I purchased the Doubles Kit to transform our single to a double to accommodate 2 children of different ages (not twins). They consider this an inline stroller. We use ours in the single mode as well as double depending on where we’re going, what we need, etc… An inline stroller is front to back, not side to side. If I’m not wearing my youngest, he rides up front and my 2 year old goes in the back. If I am wearing Henry, Maks goes up front and my 4 year old, Aston, rides underneath. My Verve has the smoothest ride out of any of the strollers I’ve owned of different brands (check out their air filled tires!).
4.) cloud-b Gentle Giraffe On The Go: We bought this giraffe for my 3rd son, Maksim, and have now passed it onto Henry. It offers 4 different sound options and helps baby fall asleep fast. Even though this is an On The Go version (they make traditional), we use it everyday in our son’s room, take it in the car, and even attach it to the stroller. I love that it has a timer so no need to remember to turn it off.
5.) Oball: BEST baby toy EVER! If you have a little one who is just learning to grab and hold things, this is for you, or rather them. You can find them everywhere, in a variety of shapes (including classic 4 inch, football, rattle) and colors. They are flexible and allow baby to easily grab and hold onto them. Older siblings will also enjoy playing with these. So simple and yet so perfect… It’s Henry’s favorite toy!
6.) BabyHawk Mei Tai and Maya Wrap Ring Sling: I love both of these so much. They’re pretty different from one another but both fabulous, durable, made of great quality fabrics and very easy to use. I love the BabyHawk for infant and toddler use. They’re customizable and wash up really well. The Maya Wrap is very sturdy and perfect for using in any climate. The fabric is terrific and there are many color options- all so very beautiful! The Maya Wrap is priced perfectly and available in four sizes: s-xl. My youngest loves both of these!
7.) MadPax Backpack/Lunchbox: Nicholas, my 7 year old, is all boy and loves unique and wild things. That being said, MadPax was up his alley! When back to school shopping this year, he wanted something no one else would have… we bought him the Lator Gator Nibbler. He has received so many compliments on it, and every kid wants one. Don’t be alarmed by the spikes- they won’t hurt you! The size is perfect for a sandwich container, water bottle, fruit, and other items; not too big and not too small. I plan on also getting him the matching backpack very soon! These are definite statement pieces for kids.
8.) Mimijumi baby bottles: The mimijumi bottles are perfect for transitioning and breastfed babies. I’ve always struggled with a low milk supply with my children so I’ve always had to feed using bottles as well. I’ve found this to be the perfect bottle for those used to the breast. I’ve found many others that say they’re “most like mom,” when in fact they are nothing like mom. They’re very simple with no complex pieces and very easy to clean.
9.) aden + anais Swaddles: I absolutely adore these swaddle blankets because they’re so versatile. I love using the breathable swaddles for the obvious- swaddling a newborn, as well as lightweight blanket, setting down for baby to play on, and a nursing cover. They are the perfect softness, wash after wash. There are so many beautiful colors and patterns to choose from and they’re so big!
10.) L’ovedbaby baby clothing: I own a bunch of L’ovedbaby items, from blankets, to bibs, to pieces of clothing. The fabric is really terrific and so soft against baby’s skin, and everything washes up so nicely! They have many simple and functional items and the colors are really lovely. They offer quite a few gender neutral colors/prints that would be perfect for Moms (and Dads) to stock up on before hand, if they’re keeping their baby’s gender a secret until birth! My favorite piece is the sleveless overalls!
I hope you all enjoy my Real Mom Picks! It was a pleasure to share my top 10 favs with you! I hope you, too, will find these products as amazing as I. Thank-you!
